My Story
I’m Christine Bull, an author, musician, and teacher based in Somerset.
I write books, teach piano, and play viola and violin at weddings and events with The Bristol String Quartet and other freelance projects.
I’ve always loved words, particularly rhythm and rhyme, and long before picture books were involved I was happily writing silly limericks simply because it amused me.
My work now sits somewhere between storytelling, music, and teaching, shaped by years of making things, noticing patterns, and following ideas that refuse to behave themselves, usually accompanied by a cup of tea.
Where I feel most like me
I’m happiest outdoors, especially near trees or water, and I have a long-standing tendency to talk to both.
I grew up with a rescued Little Owl called Twitch, which probably explains my fondness for owls and my willingness to believe the world is a little more enchanted than it pretends to be.
I love animals, volunteer at Pear Tree Farm Animal Sanctuary caring for the horses, and care deeply about encouraging people to trust themselves a little more, especially when they've forgotten how.
Everything I make is an invitation to slow down, connect with nature, believe in your own way of seeing things, and, above all, create your own magic, preferably after putting the kettle on.
