The Library

You have entered the Magicowl Library.

Every library has to begin somewhere, and for now the first books to rest on these shelves are the Twitch and the Witch stories, gentle tales from the Enchanted Wood.

Each cover opens a small magic portal to Etsy, while the stories themselves also wander further afield to Amazon, Kindle, and independent bookshops.

In time, more books will find their place here, written for curious minds of all ages. You are warmly invited to walk this Magicowl journey with me.

They’d all bring something tasty to share

Woolgathering Winter

“Twitch ruffled his feathers and glanced all around.
A blanket of snow gently covered the ground.
It muffled the forest with silence and hush.
And everything slowed, there was no need to rush.
”

On a snowy December day, Twitch sets off to visit his best friend, the Witch. Her cottage is warm and glowing, the hot chocolate is ready, and outside the enchanted wood has grown wonderfully still.

“Woolgathering suits a cold, dreamy day.”

“What? Gathering wool?” Twitch gave her a look,
“Do I bring some sheep, or a blanket and book?
”

Twitch and the Magicowl Mishap

“Inside, the poor Witch was tucked up in bed.
A scarf round her neck and a hat on her head.
Her nose gave a honk, her voice gave a wheeze,
she spluttered and moaned,
‘Oh Twitch, help me please
!’”

The Witch has a horrible cold and needs Twitch’s help. Can he make the magicowl spell that will make her feel better?

Twitch puffed out his chest and gave a big hoot.
“I’ll fetch what you need, any spice, herbs or fruit!”
He flapped to the shelf for the Witch’s spell book,
then opened it wide and had a good look.

Twitch is determined to help his best friend, but somewhere along the way his spell goes a little bit wrong.

What follows is a magicowl mishap involving sneezes, surprises and rather a lot of farting!
